You can replace the quassia chips with neem, a herb jnown for its insecticidal properties, however, it does not smell very inviting.

| Method: | |
- Either soak the quassia in water overnight or decoct it for 10 minutes.
- Use this mix to wash down bedding, coat collars and so forth. It is also a good idea to to use it as a weekly preventative hair rinse during periods of louse infections at school.
