The leaves are bipinnate, petiole usually with a minute gland about the middle, pinnae, 4-8 pairs, leaflets 10-20 pairs. The flowers occur in globose heads, and are fragrant and deep yellow. The peduncles exhibit a ring of small deflexed ciliate bracts at or near the apex, while the pods are subcylindrical, turgid, slightly curved and conspicuously straightly veined.
