Myrrh is often adulterated with Opopanax, Myrrh extractives using solvents are often referred to as 'myrrh' after decolourisation.

Uses

Myrrh has historically been used in fragrances and in cerimonial and religeous festivities where it was burnt together with other spices and essential oils. It was used for embalming and given as a precious gift.
