Blue Artemis Essential Oil
A quick-growing dense, evergreen shrub to 4 to 6 feet tall by as wide with soft, white to silvery gray-green foliage that is deeply divided and clusters of inconspicuous dull yellow flowers that appear in late spring. Blue Artemis is picked/harvested as near as possible to bloom. The soft tender stems, top leafy parts and flowers are harvested and distilled as soon as possible after picking. Blue Artemis (A. arborescens) is a powerful, camphoraceous-smelling deep indigo blue essential oil. According to popular folklore, the plant was spread by Moorish invaders and Knights Templar during the times leading up to the Crusades. There seems to be two distinct types of the essential oil from the Mediterranean and from north America, Oregon, the levels of thujone and chamazulene, we deal here with the oil from north America - the chamazulene type.
